The North Texas Commission added several new members to the board of directors: Frank Antonacci, region president at Verizon Wireless; Eric V. Fox, director of government relations at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics; Glenn Gilkey, senior vice president of human resources at Fluor Enterprises; Kevin Murphy, U.S. government relations manager for Exxon Mobil Corp.; Joe LaMarca,  senior vice president of communications at Bell Helicopter Textron; Drue Bynum, Grayson County Judge; David Davis, vice president and CFO of Oncor Electric Delivery; and Dr. Stephen Mansfield, president and CEO of the Methodist Health System.

Honored

All Saints’ Episcopal School was given two awards by The Council for Advancement and Support of Education District IV. The awards were for the school’s An Evening with David McCullough, which won a Grand (Gold) Award in the Institutional Relations Projects and Special Events category; and for its Our Saints. Our Story. 2008-2009 Annual Fund Campaign, which won an Award of Excellence (Silver) in the Best Low Cost Program category.

Lynne Swihart, production services director at Balcom Agency in Fort Worth, was awarded the American Advertising Federation – Fort Worth’s 2009 Silver Medal Award.

The CBS 11’s “I-team” of Reporter Bennett Cunningham, Executive Producer Aaron Wische, Senior Producer Stuart Boslow, Assistant Chief Photographer Manuel Villela and Editor Josh Brown were honored with a regional RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award in the Investigative Reporting category for the D/FW Airport spending investigation. CBS’ Editor Daniel Penz, Photographer Kristen Bergeron and Sports Anchor Gina Miller were also honored in the Videography category in the same competition for their “Dragon Fever” feature.

Brandon J. Long, of Wier & Associates Inc., was selected as Young Engineer of the Year for the D/FW Mid-Cities Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.

The Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau named Robert H. McPherrin its new assistant executive director, sales and marketing.

Traveling Coaches named Richard Ferrer as account executive; Cathy Peterson as an account executive; and Ashley Taylor joined traveling coaches as marketing coordinator.

Brenda Cavanaugh joined The Hondo Group as assistant account executive in the Darlington, Wisconsin office. The Hondo Group also added two interns for its Fort Worth office: Jennifer Poyner, who will intern as a graphic designer and Kristin Malone, who will serve as a marketing and copywriting intern.
