K. RobertsTexas-based SemiSouth Laboratories, Inc. has named Kenney Roberts, former company COO, as President and CEO. Mr. Roberts joined the company in early 2008 as COO, prior to which he worked with companies including AMD and Cirrus Logic. He brings over 30 years of industry experience to his new role.

Prior to joining SemiSouth, Mr. Roberts worked with various startup companies. He also served as President and CEO of Colorado MicroDisplay; COO of Layer N Networks; and as President and CEO of TeraVicta Technologies. He began his career with Mostek Corporation in 1974 working on the commercialization of DRAM technology. He moved to AMD in 1983 where he led the technology transition from NMOS to CMOS, after which role he joined Crystal Semiconductor as VP of Operations. HeMr. Roberts then took up the position of Senior VP of Worldwide Operations for Cirrus Logic. He has a BSEE from the University of Texas at Arlington.
