Trane Vice President Speaks to Texas A&M University Students on Ethics and Business Leadership

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Pape, Trane's vice president of commercial business in the U.S. west territory, will speak to students, faculty and university leaders at Texas A&M University on Sept. 25.

Pape will talk to engineering students about "The Evolution of Ethics and Business Leadership" and engage in a discussion about how to apply ethics to engineering and real world business challenges. He will share examples to emphasize the importance of ethics in today's business world. "Today, the organizations that are the most ethical are the most successful too," said Pape. "The strong link between financial success and corporate ethics has been proven time and time again."

While on campus, Pape will hold roundtable discussions with engineering student leaders and meet with engineering faculty members and university leadership to listen, learn and discuss the issues that are important to them. Key points he will address include the future of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry, alternative career opportunities like technical sales, and energy efficiency and sustainability.

Pape is responsible for growing Trane's sales and distribution through 20 offices in the west territory. By implementing strategies to offer building owners more efficient systems, services and solutions, Pape has helped the territory to achieve an 82 percent increase in net revenues from 2005 - 2007 while delivering more than a 100 percent increase in profitability.

Pape has more than 20 years of building, business and operations experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
