Woman released after bail reduced

ARLINGTON ¡ª A 50-year-old Arlington woman accused last month in the shooting death of her husband has been released from jail after her bail was reduced last week from $200,000 to $35,000, her attorney said Monday. Colette Reyes¡¯ bail was reduced during a hearing Dec. 1, said Wes Ball, Reyes¡¯ attorney. She posted bail two days later, he said. Reyes is accused of shooting her husband of 21 years, Arthur Alexander Reyes, 45, inside the garage of the couple¡¯s central Arlington home. He was a lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington. While free on bail, Reyes is required to be monitored by a GPS device, Ball said. The couple had been separated since Oct. 17, county records show. Arlington police were called to the house because of a domestic dispute in 2007 and again in October, records show. Arthur Reyes was issued misdemeanor citations in both cases, police said. Ball indicated that there is a possibility that Colette Reyes could claim self-defense in the case.
