Scholarships for Engineering Students

New for 2010!

FORCES Scholarships for Entering Freshmen

Focus on Retention in Cohorts of Engineering Students (FORCES) will provide scholarships and other academic support to two cohorts of engineering students during their freshman and sophomore years.  The students will take classes together, including a peer counselor-taught class covering academic skills and engineering topics.  Other elements of the program include support to improve first-semester calculus readiness, academic and career counseling, peer tutoring and involvement in engineering internships.  The program is open to all incoming freshman engineering majors at UT Arlington (UTA) during the 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.  FORCES is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Interested students must submit the application, attachments and all supporting documents by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010.

Freshman Engineering Academic Scholarships

Eligible undergraduate engineering students must be admitted by mid-February in order to receive automatic consideration for general academic scholarships administered through the UT Arlington Scholarship Office. Notifications to scholarship recipients will be sent in early March.

The number of scholarships awarded varies from year to year. Not all students who meet the minimum criteria will receive an award. UT Arlington's general academic scholarships are renewable.
