Taylor, Nick. The Disagreement. New York: Simon & Schuster, 2008.
John Muro, Virginia physician, looks back from 1895 at his wartime experiences as a medical student and junior surgeon in Charlottesville. As Muro moves straight from the classroom into the hospital, he encounters Lorrie Wigfall, the spirited, enigmatic niece of his supervisor. Much of the plot of the novel, set against the vicissitudes of the failing Southern war effort, concerns the delicate progress of their courtship.
