Back to the syllabus
Read or explain to the rest of your group three different positions on your issue: for, against, and a middle position.
After each person presents his or her issue and positions, the other group members should comment: are there three clearly defined positions? Then, each member of the group should help devise ways of supporting the different positions.
For Friday:
Bring to class a typed draft of your exploratory paper. The paper should briefly present the issue and should offer at least three different positions and support for those positions. On Friday we will do a peer-critique exercise; you will read and comment on one another's drafts. Attendance and preparation are very important; participation in these peer critique sessions is part of the "Participation" component of your grade.
