Sylvia Plath died February11, 1963.She is buried in the cemetery of the Church of St. Thomas in Hepstonstall outside of Hebden Bridge.On her original tombstone there is the inscription from Bhagavid-Gita, a Hindu Scripture " Even amidst fierce flames the Golden Lotus Can be planted".
The photo above is of a handmade cross placed by the local residents in 1988 because vandals who hold Ted responsible for Sivvy's death would continuously sneak into the cemetery at night and chisel Hughes off the tombstone.
