Our
issues feature the best of what we receive. Unfortunately,
we no longer offer a monetary prize for poetry.
There is no entry fee for this contest.
We
will respond to all submissions within six weeks
of the submission deadline.
Submissions
should be sent to: znine@uta.edu.
Submit
work as a Microsoft Word attachment. Other formats
will not be opened. Please indicate the genre to
which you are submitting on the subject line of
your email and include a short (no more than 30
words), third-person bio in the body of the email.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but would like
to be notified immediately if your work is accepted
elsewhere.

Poetry
All
verse forms and subjects are considered. Originality
is important to us. We will accept 3-5 poems per
submission. Poetry should be single spaced with
the author's name and a page number on each page.

Nonfiction
“Creative
nonfiction” of any kind
no academic work, but we are interested in essays
about writers and the craft of writing.

Fiction
We
are interested in the unique voice presented in
a clear, concise manner. While we are open-minded,
gratuitous violence and/or sex are not acceptable.
We consider short fiction up to 7,500 words. Submissions
should be double-spaced with one inch margins all

appear on all pages.

Interviews
We publish interviews with writers
and editors. Please query first.
Photography
& Graphic Arts
We will “publish” works by three
visual artist per issue, including photographs and
prints.
- Media
will be judged in jpeg format only and images
may not be larger than 320 X 412 (pixels). Various
shapes & sizes encouraged.
- Tiff
format will be requested, if work is chosen
- Please
submit 5-8 images for consideration.
Fine
Art
- We
“publish” photographs of works by
three other artists per issue, including sculpture,
relief.
