Z Nine is an on-line literary quarterly
sponsored by The English Department at The University
Of Texas At Arlington. Z Nine features original poetry, fiction, nonfiction and
graphic-arts. Please note that Z Nine does not offer a print version of the e-zine.
In addition, please note that our limited budget does not allow for payment of works
accepted for publication.
Deadline for spring submissions is April 1, 2003.
Fiction:
We are interested in high quality fiction by well-known, little-known and unknown writers.
We are interested in the unique voice presented in a clear, concise manner. While
we are open-minded, gratuitous violence and/or sex are not acceptable. We consider short
fiction up to 7,500 words. Submissions should be double-spaced with one inch margins all
around. The author's name and a page number must appear on all pages.
Please use the subject line Fiction Submission and include a short bio in the body of the
email. All work must be submitted as a Microsoft Word attachment.
Other formats will not be opened. We accept simultaneous submissions,
but would like to be notified immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Please allow 6 weeks after the deadline for consideration of your submission.
