Section 8: EOS Office Review

Contents

The Applicant Data Flow Letter with a business reply envelope must be mailed to each applicant within 5 working days of receipt of his or her application/resume/vitae. The applicant returns the Applicant Data Flow Letter directly to the EOS office. This information is necessary to certify the diversity of the applicant pool.

  • The EOS office will review the recruitment resources and provide additional resources (if applicable). The Applicant Data Flow Letter will certify the diversity of the applicant pool.
  • Once all applicants have been reviewed, the search committee must narrow the applicant pool to include finalists who will be interviewed for the position.
  • The list of applicants selected to be interviewed must then be presented to the individual responsible for filling the position. Upon receipt of the finalist list from the search committee, the person filling the position must decide on one of the three following courses of action:
    • Accept the recommendations and proceed with the interview process.
    • Reopen or suspend the position search.
    • Instruct the search committee to continue reviewing existing applications and recommend additional candidates.

If the person authorized to hire takes steps 2 or 3, then they must prepare a written explanation of their rationale for rejecting the search committee's recommendation. The explanation must be sent to the EOS office.
