Guest Artist Lecture-Recital (Arts & Culture - UT Arlington and Community)
Dr. Brian Marks, Associate Professor of Piano at Baylor University will present John Adams' Phrygian Gates, one of the masterpieces of the late twentieth century and among the longest piano works in the minimalist idiom. This lecture will illuminate the structural and aesthetic principals that help give the piece its evocative power. The lecture will be followed by a complete performance of the work.
