  MAVPLAYS Studio Series
(Arts & Culture - UT Arlington and Community)

WAITING FOR FORTY by Matthew Keller. Directed by UTA Theatre Arts senior, Elia Maria Madrid-Onofre. "Friends from the good ol' glory days of high school meet up once again to see if the promise they made to each other ages ago has been remembered -- or (perhaps hopefully) long forgotten." A riotous new comedy by UTA Theatre Arts senior, Matthew Keller.

KINGDOM OF THE SPIDER by Nick Zagone. Directed by UTA Theatre Arts senior, Dianna Sites. "It's just a regular day for Bob...until he discovers a talking black widow spider about to give birth on his front porch. Hilarity ensues as the spider, and a door-to-door evangelist, both view for Bob's attention."

ABSENTED MINDED by Joshua Equia. Directed by UTA Theatre Arts senior, Dale Shelton. "What's real? What's make-believe? No one really knows when it comes to Walt and his world...but perhaps what's most important is what dwells in his heart. A beautiful, poignant new play by UTA Theatre Arts senior, Joshua Eguia."

LEAVING TAMPA by Edward Crosby Wells. Directed by Theatre Arts senior, Courtney Gwosdz. "After his father's funeral, Roy and his lover, Marc, sit in an airport restaurant. At another table sits the ghost of Roy's abusive father, whom only Roy can see. The ensuing and overlapping conversations are emotionally riveting, and result in a resolution that is totally unexpected."
