MAVPLAYS COLLECTED ONE-ACTS (Arts & Culture - UT Arlington and Community)
HOMEBOUND by UTA student Lea Arista. Directed by Professor Seraphina Nova. When Jenny finds herself broken down on the side of the road at night in rural-nowhere, paranoia is inevitable. However, when confronted by a mysterious girl who seems to materialize out of thin air, Jenny is left questioning reality from fiction...and the audience will too.
MUSICAL CHAIRS by UTA student G. Dean McBride. Directed by Dr. Anne Healy. MUSICAL CHAIRS is a play-with-music that explores one man's journey to truly find himself. Accompanied by the music of his life, the "selves" vie for control in this zany, fast-paced race to today. Who will win the game of musical chairs?
NEXT TIME LETS GO OUT TO DINNER, a short dramedy by UTA student Erin Turner. Directed by Professor Seraphina Nova. Sibling rivalry and family dysfunction are at the heart of this story that leans toward comedy but also tugs at the heartstrings as we empathize with this group of siblings who use humor and insults to deal with their deep loss.
