The Bioengineering Department hosts a teleconference presentation featuring Dr. Yaowu Hao of the Materials Science & Engineering Department. Due to their fascinating surface properties and biocompatibility, gold nanoparticles have widely been used for optical imaging contrast agents and photothermal therapy agents. In this talk, Dr. Hao describes his recently developed hollow gold nanoparticles and their potential uses in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Everyone welcome.
