  Paws for Finals
(Special Events)

This program allows students to interact with registered therapy dogs as a means of reducing the stress and anxiety that final exams can induce. Studies have proved that petting a friendly dog reliably lowers blood pressure and stress-related hormones in the blood, slows the heart rate, regularizes breathing, and releases tension from muscles. These effects can be achieved after only 5 to 24 minutes of interaction with a cheerful pup. Students (and faculty/staff) who need a study/work break filled with unconditional love are encouraged and invited to stop by the second floor of the Central Library.
