McNair Scholars Program Recruitment
The UTA McNair Scholars Program is recruiting new participants, October 1-November 8. This federal program prepares undergraduates for future graduate study culminating in the PhD (and ideally a life of university teaching and research). The program offers many benefits including a summer research experience ($3,000 stipend), summer scholarship for independent study related to research, free GRE prep course, conference travel, free transcripts and application fee waivers, and guidance with the graduate school application process.
It is open to (primarily) juniors and seniors, U.S. citizens and permanent residents, those with a cumulative UTA GPA of 3.0 (as of fall semester), any major, and either first-generation and simultaneously low-income students OR those from one of three underrepresented groups (in graduate school): African American, Hispanic, Native American (Alaskan, Hawaiian, U.S. Pacific Islander).
Our Open House is October 16, 11 am-1 pm. Please contact us for more information or an application (also on our website).
