Politically skilled individuals possess the ability to read others and the situations in which they find themselves, possess the ability to influence others, are skilled in the art of networking, and appear sincere in their interactions with others.

Micki Kacmar, Ph.D., Durr-Fillauer Chair of Business Ethics and professor of management at University of Alabama, presents her research that explores the use of political skill in various positions and the benefits and drawbacks of being politically skilled.
