CSE Colloquium: Creating Transit Info via Participatory Sensing
(Lectures/Talks)

"Tiramisu: Creating Transit Information via Participatory Sensing"
Anthony Tomasic, Ph.D., Carnegie Mellon University

Abstract:
Participatory sensing is a type of crowdsourcing that leverages people and their smartphones as a network of sensors. In this talk, I describe Tiramisu, a currently deployed smartphone application that provides real-time public transit information in Pittsburgh, PA. Tiramisu is also a platform for conducting real-world social computing and data science research.
