  "The Ties that Bind"
(Arts & Culture - UT Arlington and Community)

Artist Kelly Ingleright-Telgenhoff's work tends to elevate an isolated single object in her personal quest for beauty, calm, and serenity. Her work ofter examines past memories, ruminations of the present, and spirituality of the future.

In "Ties that Bind" the intersection of abstraction and realism in landscape and still life painting have become a means by which to elevate an object that symbolizes identity, memory, or spirituality for the artist. The beauty, struggle and even the ugly components of early formative familial relationships permeate the sometimes humorous, haunted, and surreal settings.

The calm, quiet, isolated, or exposed objects that inhabit the artist's world are rendered in a realistic, yet abstracted fashion as a means to pay homage to memories that fade, change, distort and become abstract shapes. These objects also possess a level of reality and contribute to the structure of a specific past, present ruminations on spirituality that may illuminate the artist's future.
