Text Box: Brent is assistant professor of political science at the University of Texas at Arlington.  His research focuses on judicial politics and public law, including studies of judicial selection and the impact of institutions on judicial behavior in state appellate courts.  His research has been published or accepted for publication from the American Journal of Political Science, American Politics Research, and the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies.  Professor Boyea earned his Ph.D. at Rice University in January 2006.
