Cherokee

The 2013-2014 (2-semester) Field Methods course, taught by Dr. Colleen Fitzgerald is working with Rae Queton, a Cherokee speaker living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Through an arrangement with the Cherokee Nation Language program, we are working to provide support to Cherokee language programs, especially as regards their FLEx/database lexicon projects. The spring 2014 semester include a service learning component focused on traditional ecological knowledge and language documentation, working with Cherokee ethnobotany.
