Advanced ELAN Techniques

Location: Library 315A
Week 2: Monday, June 23-Thursday, June 26
Period 3: 2:15-3:45 pm

This workshop on advanced methods in ELAN will focus on (i) advanced features of this software not commonly covered in introductory and intermediate courses, and (ii) integrating these features fluidly into common documentary linguistic workflows. The workshop complements ELAN courses offered at CoLang 2014 and at previous CoLang/InField institutes, and aims to extend participants' familiarity with the basic use of ELAN to include a range of more advanced applications to 'real-world' situations in language documentation and description.

Advanced ELAN Techniques will cover the following topics: a) using ELAN and YouTube to create online videos; b) using ELAN with Toolbox/FLEx and c) using ELAN for coding and analyzing linguistic data.
