Lise Dobrin


Lise Dobrin is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Virginia. She has done fieldwork in Arapesh language communities of northern Papua New Guinea and now curates the Arapesh Grammar and Digital Language Archive. Her publications include studies in Arapesh grammar and stylistics, language shift and language development, and the history of anthropology. Dr. Dobrin has been actively involved in ethics advocacy and in promoting ethnographic methods as an integral part of linguistic field research.
