Michael Young


Since 1975 Dr. Young has been a faculty member in higher education, serving as a faculty member at Campbellsville College, Auburn University, University of Arkansas, New Mexico State University, and currently the University of Texas-Arlington, where he serves as the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Nursing.

Dr. Young has authored or co-authored over 118 articles in national/international journals, and has received both national and institutional recognition for his work. His work in sexuality, abstinence education, and drug education has been frequently cited by a number of scholars, including the Surgeon General of the United States, and also has caught the attention of the popular press. His work has been reprinted in Reader's Digest and cited in USA Today, Parade, ABC, the London Times, Redbook, Cosmopolitan and a host of other popular magazines, newspapers, and on-line sources.
