Andrea is a Masters student from Bogota, Colombia. She did her undergraduate work at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota. Her research interests include various aspects of the ecology, morphology, evolution and behavior of reptiles and amphibians. Andrea's current research focuses on the ecomorphology of a group of lizards of the genus Sceloporus. She studies how morphological variation is related to water loss and locomotion at different elevations for the Sceloporus formosus group. More specifically, she is testing if the number and arrangement of body scales are related to water loss and/or locomotion within this group of lizards. Andrea also plans to examine hybridization processes within Sceloporus occurring in the southeastern parts of Mexico.
