Ongoing Projects
- Lesson Study in Libraries
While at the University of Michigan, I participated in Lesson Study - a method for developing lesson plans that includes collaboration, testing, and revision. Currently, I am organizing a Lesson Study group at UT Arlington. Read our article from C&RL News about Lesson Study, or visit our website on Lesson Study at UM, or read my blog posts about lesson study. - Librarian with a Latte
As a new liaison, I needed a way to connect with faculty and students in my department. In addition to offering traditional services (e.g. instruction sessions, reference assistance, course guides), I offered to make myself available at a coffee shop for students to get one-on-one help finding resources for their assignments. This required no class time from the faculty member - just a copy of the assignment so I could time the sessions to happen just prior to assignment deadlines. These sessions have been very popular with undergraduate students.
