Dr.
Chiao was a Product Line Manager and Senior Technology Advisor at Chorum
Technology. Chorum Technology was a startup company funded in 1998 at
Richardson, Texas. The company was previously called Macro Vision funded in
1996 at Boulder, Colorado. The company grew from around 50 people in 1999 to
more than 800 employees in 2001. Dallas Business Journal reported in
September 2000 that Chorum was valued at $1.1billion dollars in 2000. |

JC’s product line focused
on liquid crystal devices for optical communication and networking. The
products include optical attenuators, attenuator arrays, optical switches,
switch arrays, tunable filters, cross connects and optical power/gain
equalizers. The product Optical Harmonic Equalizer (OHE) won the 2001
FiberOptic Product News Technology Award. |
