Dalai Lama’s words:

“And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived."

To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle.”

UT-Arlington has a bookplate for my favorite book in the central library and I chose Dr. YunSuan Sun’s biography. Here is what I wrote about him.

Learned from someone who has an unselfish vision for people, perseverance to get jobs done, and a honest, modest and positive attitude, this book about Dr. Sun teaches me "stay ambitious, stay humble".

The book is out of print but UT-Arlington library managed to get a copy for students.

“The Lessons I'm Leaving Behind” by Professor Randy Pausch.

He started his article as: “At many colleges, professors are asked to give a “last lecture.” …. A few weeks later, I learned that I had only months to live — I was dying of pancreatic cancer…..” His words have a strong resonance in me after what I have been through with my own illness. Video here

Dr. Pausch passed away on July 25 2008.
