I am a cultural anthropologist and my research interests lie at the intersection
of visual culture, globalization, and citizenship in colonial and postcolonial India.
My research and teaching also extend to biography, gender, history, memory,
subaltern politics, and South Asia. My long term research of visual media
is at present shaped by my interest in visuality in relation to the representation of
politics, citizenship, developmental and proselytizing discourses in India.
