Ioannis D. Schizas received the diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics (with honors) from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2004, 
the M.Sc. and Ph. D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 2007 and 2011 respectively. 

He joined the faculty of Electrical Engineering department at the University of Texas at Arlington in August 2011.

His general research interests lie in the areas of statistical signal processing, distributed processing, data mining and machine learning. 
Specifically, he is working on big data clustering, video and multimodal data tracking, remote sensing applications as well as distributed estimation and tracking with applications to networks.
