Background and Area of Expertise

Dr. Beneberu has vast experience working in the industry as well as in academia. He worked as a structural engineer for a design firm and as Engineering Specialist for TxDOT. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas and California. His academia experience ranges from teaching to researching various topics in structural engineering. His areas of expertise include repair and rehabilitation of structures, structural fire engineering, and health monitoring of bridges. Dr. Beneberu is a member of the Planning and Design Committee for American Segemental Bridge Institute (ASBI), ASCE-SEI Technical Activities Division for Bridge Management, Inspection and Rehabilitation Committee, ASCE Fire Protection Committee, and reviewer of ASCE Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities.
