In conjunction with Focus on Technology, the Office of Information Technology brings you WIIFM - "What's in it for me"

For the first time, departments that offer technology services to employees are coming together so you may explore all of the technology choices available to you. Get the information you need to do your job.

Academic Support

• The Center for Distance Education - The Center for Distance Education is dedicated to supporting faculty at the University of Texas at Arlington with training, instructional design and support throughout the development and delivery of online courses. Join us to learn more about our distance education offerings including integrating; videoconferencing, teleconferencing, synchronous online learning, and internet based courses using Blackboard, and WebCT.
• Second Life^® - UT Arlington has arrived in Second Life^®! Learn about educational uses of the Second Life virtual world and how UT Arlington is building a virtual learning community for the campus.
• Continuing Education - speak with representatives about technology classes that are available to you.
• The UT Arlington ResearchCommons - Drop by and learn about the opportunities this institutional repository offers for publishing UTA faculty research to the larger community. Other materials that requires a lot of storage are also candidates, such as slides, videos, architectural drawings, Shorthorn archives, recorded programs, and more.
• Geographic Information Systems - Demonstration of Geographic Information Systems and an overview of the Library’s GIS services.
• UT Arlington Library - Instruction and Training.
• UT Arlington Library Web Site - Learn about the Library's web site redesign, which will incorporate the campus' Content Management System. Play the "Name that Category!" game to help us design a super fine site!
