Program Description
The MSSW program prepares students to practice effectively and ethically with the full range of social systems, emphasizing evidence-informed practice, a strengths-based approach, diversity, social justice, empowerment, and a critical thinking perspective. The program also prepares students by valuing social work history and the integration of social work knowledge, to understand professional social work roles.
Graduates of the program are qualified to become program administrators and managers, clinical practitioners, consultants, educators, and researchers.
All of our MSSW programs, (traditional on-campus, LCU, and the Fort Worth Center Cohort) are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
The 64-hour MSSW Cohort program is tailored to working professionals by offering a predetermined schedule and accelerated 5 week courses. At this pace, you can complete the degree in just 24 months. MSSW Cohort students will progress through the entire program together. It is a unique opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow students in your industry. The strengths and advantages of the MSSW Cohort Program are well worth the time spent in the classroom. Classes meet through the program on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6-10 p.m.
