Take a look at some of our current and past exhibits as well as our community events calendar.
In this exhibition composed primarily of granulated sugar, artist Janet Morrow examines the notion of sweetness and our ambiguous reactions to it. In works that suggest rather than tell, she utilizes sugar as a metaphor for spirit and the shape into which it is molded as the physical vessel. Her manipulation of these forms suggests diverse life experiences such as joy, loss, and falling in love.
Morrow creates conceptual art, utilizing whatever combination of media is most appropriate to communicate the idea. She holds a BFA in theatre from Southern Methodist University and an MFA in Intermedia Studio from The University of Texas at Arlington. Her work has been exhibited at Surface Gallery in Nottingham, England, The Smithsonian International Gallery in Washington, D.C., Access Gallery in Austin, and many other venues. She teaches art at The University of Texas at Arlington and Tarrant County College NE Campus.
Exhibition Dates: September 5th - November 30th, 2013
