Professional MBA

A Team-based Approach to the MBA Designed for Working Professionals

The MBA Professional Cohort Format at UT Arlington is a team-based approach to our traditional MBA program, and is taught exclusively at UT Arlington's downtown Fort Worth Center on Jones Street near the Convention Center. This lock-step format is a 45-hour, two-year program, designed for working professionals, with or without prior business education.

The MBA Professional Cohort Format is an excellent choice for individuals seeking to develop their business skills within a team environment and to earn project team experience that is highly valued in today's business world. The program offers exceptional networking opportunities with top companies in the region including American Airlines, BNSF Railway, Alcon Labs and Lockheed Martin as team members are working professionals at these and other major corporations.

Admission to the MBA Professional Cohort Format is available in the fall and spring semesters. Traditional semesters are divided into five- or eight-week-long sessions, with courses delivered in a sequenced format, allowing you to focus on one subject at a time.

Master of Arts in Criminology & Criminal Justice

Mission Statement

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UTA balances theory and application in academic course work. Students explore crime causation, trends, and issues associated with the broad structure of the criminal justice system. Emphasis is placed on historic and current literature in the criminal justice field and attempts are made to improve the critical thinking and writing skills of students. In the context of a well rounded liberal arts education, faculty prepare students for professional careers or entry into law and graduate education.

Cohort Masters Program

The CRCJ Cohort Masters Program offers professionals who are already working in the field of criminal justice the potential to further their careers with advanced management education. The program is a 36 hour, non-thesis degree plan offered in an accelerated format exclusively at UT Arlington’s Fort Worth Center. The cohort design provides students with the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with fellow professionals in the industry.

Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with Texas Principal Certification

Master of Public Administration
Public Administration is concerned with the formulation, analysis and implementation of public policy in urban institutions. Master of Science in Real Estate

The MSRE program focuses on the delivery of advanced real estate analysis skill sets that are recognized as crucial within the commercial investment real estate marketplace. By being located in Downtown Fort Worth at the UTA Fort Worth Center, our primary area of emphasis is on adaptive reuse of existing structures and the unique challenges of redevelopment. Financial Modeling, Geographic Information Systems, and Real Estate Data Analysis are all fundamental components to our program. Also, embedded within our program are two study tours, one domestic (Texas) and one international (New Zealand/Australia) that focus on touring actual real estate projects and meeting with industry professionals.

MSRE in Sustainability

The MSRE - Sustainability concentration provides students an opportunity to obtain a better understanding of the mechanics of sustainable project development and evaluation. In this program, students are exposed to the theory, research, and practical applications of numerous content areas, including investment analysis, appraisal, and sustainable development. Sustainability and development go hand in hand and building green has become the norm in many cities. The tools to develop in this changing marketplace must include strategies for addressing the economics, community and the environment as we build and rebuild our communities, towns and cities. The MSRE - Sustainability concentration is a specialized degree program designed to build upon the candidate's background. Graduates will be prepared for management level careers in private and public sector business, government, research and teaching.

Master of Science in Social Work

The MSSW program prepares students to practice effectively and ethically with the full range of social systems, emphasizing evidence-informed practice, a strengths-based approach, diversity, social justice, empowerment, and a critical thinking perspective. The program also prepares students by valuing social work history and the integration of social work knowledge, to understand professional social work roles.

Graduates of the program are qualified to become program administrators and managers, clinical practitioners, consultants, educators, and researchers.

All of our MSSW programs, (traditional on-campus, LCU, and the Fort Worth Center Cohort) are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The 64-hour MSSW Cohort program is tailored to working professionals by offering a predetermined schedule and accelerated 5 week courses. At this pace, you can complete the degree in just 24 months. MSSW Cohort students will progress through the entire program together. It is a unique opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow students in your industry. Master of Science in Systems Engineering
UT Arlington/Fort Worth Center's Master of Science in Systems Engineering program is designed to provide students with both the fundamental and applied management and technical knowledge to support the development of complex systems. Systems Engineering is that branch of engineering that develops systems, where a system is a collection of elements that work together as a unit. In practice, one or more of the elements may itself be a system. Therefore, Systems Engineering may be thought of as engineering systems of systems.

Ph.D. in K-16 Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
The Ph.D. degree is designed for candidates who seek to enter careers in research, institutional assessment, policy analysis, institutional leadership, or the professoriate. The program challenges the conventional wisdom that K-12 and post-secondary education are different worlds by bringing together scholars and students from all levels of education to work and study together Particularly, the program will focus on narrowing achievement gaps by studying factors and creating more efficacious transitions within the educational experience. Working from the premise that all people can learn at high levels, the program will study the systemic barriers that prevent so many children, adolescents, and young adults from achieving their fullest potential.
