Why Don't More People Contract Cryptococcosis?
The organism Cryptococcus neoformans and the disease are found worldwide. The organism grows very well in soil containing pigeon droppings. Pigeons are found everywhere. Thus, it is not uncommon for humans to be exposed to this organism. What are the body defense mechanisms that usually prevent cryptococcosis?
