The Biology of “Golden Algae” and Fish Kills in Texas:
“Golden algae” is a species of unicellular, aquatic microorganism with a number of interesting biological characteristics. Our research group is investigating its basic biology, occurrence in Texas lakes, the fish killing toxins it produces, and possible measures to reduce its impact on Texas fisheries.
