This presentation focuses on the role of religion in public education. It includes a discussion of the establishment clause, the free exercise clause, and several of the seminal court cases that brought the relationship of state, church, and school to the forefront. Attention will also be paid to the effect of the political climate on court decisions that affect the role of religion in public education.
