Having a basic understanding of finance and accounting is essential to success in both professional and personal money management and informed financial decisions. This program is designed for those individuals who have limited knowledge of financial principles or would benefit from a review session. In addition to learning the vocabulary of finance and accounting, the class covers techniques for interpreting financial reports and for understanding the impact of financial decisions.
What you will learn:
  1. Recognize the goals of financial management
  2. Understand the vocabulary of finance and accounting
  3. Learn the basics of financial statement analysis, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  4. Understand the calculation of financial ratios and how they are used
  5. Learn how to calculate and use the concept of time value of money
  6. Recognize the purpose of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
