Our "Going Green" initiative began with the renovation of the historic Santa Fe Freight Depot which was built in the 1930's. Every effort was made to maintain the historical nature of the building while incorporating sustainable features that minimized energy consumption and noise pollution. Additionally, we utilized the existing structures when possible and were conscientious about identifying furniture, finishes and equipment that were eco-friendly and enhanced the nature of the building.
We are committed to using non-toxic cleaning supplies, purchasing recycled/compostable office and event supplies, and utilizing 100% recycled post consumer waste paper for printing, copying, and promotional materials. We have also implemented a composting program throughout the building. These initiatives are part of the University's Maverick Office Green Team program which the Fort Worth Center ia a gold member.
