Anthropology in Print
Exhibition: March 7 – April 23, 2005
Reception: Friday, April 1, 6 – 8:30 PM
Gallery talk during reception beginning at 6:30 PM

In this exhibition, curator Nancy Palmeri has brought together twenty-four contemporary artists whose work reflects their observations on their fellow human beings, their environment, their social and political relations and their culture.

The list of selected printmakers is a diverse group of both emerging and well-established artists from across the country. As Nancy Palmeri comments, their images “encroach on the viewers’ sensibilities by presenting often outlandish and comic visual commentaries on human existence.”

Participating artists are: Nick Alley (KS); Michael Barnes (IL); Paul Bonelli (NJ); Jim Bryant (KY); Lisa Bulawsky (MO); Mel Chin (NC); Bill Fick (NC); Lari Gibbons (TX); Holly Greenberg (NY); John Hancock (TX); Nicole Hand (KY); Tom Huck (MO); Benito Huerta (TX); Michael Krueger (KS); Laura Melancon (SD); Lloyd Menard (SD); Michelle Moode (WV); Dave Morrison (IN); Lucia Perez (TX); Johntimothy Pizzuto (FL); John Risseeuw (AZ); Bonnie Stahlecker (IN); Sean Star Wars (LA); Breanne Trammell (TX)

In association with the exhibition, one of the participating artists, Nicole Hand, will present a slide lecture about her work on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 noon in Fine Arts Building Room 148.

All events are free and open to the public.
