ARLINGTON–The Gallery at The University of Texas at Arlington is presenting its tenth “Faculty Biennial,” a showcase for recent work created by the Department of Art and Art History faculty. In this exhibit, scheduled every two years, the art professors show what they’ve accomplished in their creative endeavors outside the classroom. The 2009 exhibition, which runs through November 14, features the work of over 40 faculty members in a wide variety of media including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, glass, video, digital imaging and visual communication. In addition, the department's art historians will have examples of recent publications on display.
"The Faculty Biennial X is an opportunity for the university and the community to view the work of our talented faculty who work in a variety of media. It should prove to be an exciting exhibition, " said gallery curator Benito Huerta."
In association with the exhibition, several of the artists will discuss their work in a series of noontime gallery talks on selected Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the exhibition. The dates for the talks are Wednesdays, October 21 and November 4, and Thursdays, October 29 and November 12.
All events are free and open to the public.
