Personal Environments
January 26 - February 28, 2004
Reception,
Friday, January 30, 6-8:30 and Artists' Talk at 6:30 PM
Curated by UTA faculty member Marilyn Jolly, the exhibition showcases
the work of artists who use the garden and nature as inspiration
in their work.
The drawings, paintings, installation pieces, photographic images
and sculptures created by George Bogart (Norman, Okla.), David Gibson
(Dallas), Tracy Hicks (Dallas), Meg Langhorne (San Antonio) and
Andrea Rosenberg (Dallas) were selected by Jolly because of their
connection to "the forms, the repetition, the color and surfaces
and the passing of the seasons and the fragility and resilience
of life in gardens."
In
association with the exhibition, George Bogart and David Gibson
will each give presentations about their work. George Bogart will
present his work at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, and David Gibson
will speak at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10. An opening reception
will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, with an artist's talk
at 6:30 p.m. (location: TBA).
All events are free and open to the public.
