Research Interests: Paleo-geomorphology of Cretaceous carbonate platforms in the western Pacific, and their relationship to the tectonic history of the Pacific sea floor. Geographic Information Systems, specifically as applied to environmental issues. Business Interests: In his day-job, Dr. van Waasbergen is the Maximum Leader of Applied Environmental Data Services, a consulting firm providing GIS, data-management and data-analysis services to government agencies, attornies and other professionals working on environmental issues.
