Dennis Harp Dennis joined the University of Texas at Arlington in 2011. He is responsible for fund-raising efforts for major gifts in the athletic program and will also work collaboratively with Vice-President for Development Jim Lewis, associate Vice President for Development Jerri Schooley, and athletic director Pete Carlon. Prior to his appointment, Dennis served for 26 years at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. His duties at HSU included developing relations with corporate sponsors, strengthening relationships between the University and major donors, assisting individuals with planned giving, was able to start several endowments, and was an integral part of a capital campaign which raised the most money in the history of the University. Dennis coached basketball for 22 years and was one of the youngest NCAA Division 1 coaches in the country. He has the most wins of any basketball coach in the history at HSU. Prior to Hardin-Simmons University, Harp was the Academic Advisor and assistant basketball coach at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. He has a son Ryan who was captain and played four years of college basketball at Southern Methodist University and a daughter Ellie who plays volleyball at Central Florida Community College in Ocala, Florida.
