Marla is a sixth generation Texan, grew up in Grapevine and graduated from TCU with a BS degree in Journalism. After college, she sold broadcast airtime for several local radio stations, including WBAP, then spent 10 years at the former WB33 television station, also in sales. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in History here at UTA and eventually plans to earn her doctorate as well. She lives in Fort Worth with her big yellow lab and three cats. Most of her family lives close by, and she likes to spend time with them, entertain friends, participate in activities at church, read and travel.
