In
1895, the founders of Arlington College responded
to a critical need of their time – to provide
outstanding, relevant education to a growing student
population. Since then, the institution’s
name has changed, academic programs have flourished,
and the campus has grown exponentially. One common
thread runs throughout this evolution, which is “personified
in a succession of strong-minded, determined believers
in the value of education and in the importance of
access to education” (excerpted from Transitions:
A Centennial History of The University of Texas
at Arlington, Gerald D. Saxon, 1995.)
Now over 110 years later, it’s still individuals
who make the difference at The University of Texas
at Arlington. Our capacity for success lies
not only in our outstanding faculty, staff and students,
but in the belief placed in us by our alumni, parents
and friends. Their generosity is expressed in many
ways - through annual gifts that fuel our current
programs, endowment gifts that generate funds in perpetuity,
planned gifts for the future, or capital gifts to
create centers of learning and living.
The 1895 Society recognizes those individuals who
provide annual leadership support to The University
of Texas at Arlington. Donors qualify for membership
by contributing $1,000 or more to any of the University’s
schools, colleges,
current initiatives
and programs
during the fiscal year (September 1 – August
31). Cumulative gifts during the same fiscal year
also count towards membership in the 1895 Society.

Giving
For The Future-The Carlisle Society |
 |
|
Named
for James McCoy Carlisle, the Carlisle Military Academy
was founded in 1902 and soon became one of the better
known military schools in Texas in the early 1900s.
Even those early successes, however, could not foresee
the evolution of that campus into today’s University
of Texas at Arlington. The Carlisle Society
honors the academic vision that Carlisle brought to
the institution he created.
The Carlisle Society
at The University of Texas at Arlington recognizes
alumni, parents and friends who also envision the
possibilities for the future of the University, its
people, and its programs and play an active role in
bringing them about. Carlisle Society members
generously express their support of UTA by making
the University a part of their estate plans.
They have included UTA in their wills, charitable
trusts, gift annuities, life insurance, and other
deferred gift arrangements. The Carlisle Society
also recognizes individuals who have created permanent
endowments.

Recognizing
UT Arlington Faculty and Staff-The Nedderman Society
|
 |
|
The
Nedderman Society, founded to recognize faculty and
staff who contribute financially to the University
of Texas at Arlington, is named for Dr. and Mrs. Wendell
Nedderman to honor their spirit and dedication to
this University and its students. During Dr. Nedderman’s
19-year tenure as University President, 21 Baccalaureate,
27 Masters and 17 Doctoral degree programs were added.
Enrollment increased by over 10,000 students during
his presidency, and the campus grew tremendously under
his leadership. The Nedderman Society exists in the
same spirit of progress and improvement as Dr. Nedderman
exhibited. Faculty and staff that contribute to any
area of the university are automatically members of
The Society. It is not the size of the gift, but your
participation that matters.
If you’re a member of the faculty
or staff and give to The University, thank you!
You are considered a member of the Nedderman Society.
