The Smart Hospital in The School of Nursing

The best practitioners learn by doing.  For students in UT Arlington’s prestigious School of Nursing, this means experiencing a full range of patient care issues and emergencies in a highly realistic – and safe – setting.  The School of Nursing has fully integrated the use of human patient “simulators” in a unique teaching/learning environment.  This unique environment, the Smart Hospital and Health System, serves as a national demonstration center for education of health careproviders and research and development of healthcare innovations.  It offers a learning environment in which the education of health care workers can be streamlined, made more effective and efficient and performance standards are objectively verified.  For more information about partnership opportunities, contact Angela Crowly, Interim Vice President for Development and visit the School of Nursing for more information.

The University Clock Tower
“… erecting a University Clock Tower resonates with so many students, alumni and faculty because a clock tower provides a symbol and a sense of tradition and place on a university campus.”
- James D. Spaniolo, President, The University of Texas at Arlington

With more and more students living on campus, hundreds of student athletes setting the standard both on and off the field, and nearly 10,000 students participating in over 250 campus organizations and clubs every year, The University of Texas at Arlington provides an increasingly more traditional collegiate environment for its nearly 25,000 students.  A fitting symbol for today’s Mavericks – and yesterday’s visionary alumni, faculty, and administrators who paved the way – is embodied in a University Clock Tower.  Graduate architecture students, taught by visiting assistant professor Kevin Sloan, have already developed the tower’s preliminary designs, envisioned for construction on the Central Library mall.   For more information about naming opportunities, contact Angela Crowly, Vice President for Development.
