Endowments

Endowments are symbols of extraordinary collaboration between donors and The University of Texas at Arlington.  They allow the donor to leave an indelible mark on the University and provide the donor an opportunity for recognition or to pay tribute to a loved one, colleague or friend.  Donors select an area of focus and partner with UT Arlington in ensuring their gift remains an enduing expression of their interest and passion.  Areas of focus can include:

Endowed Chairs and Professorships

Scholarships and Fellowships

Building and Facilities

Departments, Centers and Programs

Endowed Chairs and Professorships
“Endowed chairs and professorships benefit many students over an extended period. Such endowments empower the University to bring in top scholars to instruct and advise our students and contribute to the body of knowledge with their groundbreaking research and scholarship.”
- James D. Spaniolo, President, The University of Texas at Arlington

As experts in their fields, every faculty member who holds an endowed chair or professorship at The University of Texas at Arlington captures an aspect of their discipline unlike anyone else.  In addition to being an academic honor, an endowed chair or professorship provides faculty members with much needed support for teaching and research endeavors and also enhances the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty.

By establishing this special kind of endowment, donors make lasting statements about their belief in the power of outstanding faculty to impact students’ lives, advance knowledge and enhance the entire academic atmosphere of the University.

Scholarships and Fellowships

The University of Texas at Arlington relies on the support of alumni, friends, corporations, foundations and other partners to meet the needs of its growing student population.   Scholarships are a critical vehicle for expressing this support.  Through the generosity of donors, generations of deserving scholars for years to come will be able to receive financial assistance to pursue their academic goals.  Prepared by their UT Arlington education, these students will make a positive impact and difference in the world around them.  Scholarships also increase University prominence by providing scholarship dollars the institution can use to recruit top high school and college graduates to study within one of its disciplines.

The minimum gift required to create an endowed scholarship is $10,000.  Donors select an area of focus – such as a particular academic discipline, level of scholastic achievement, or leadership criteria - and partner with the University to ensure their gift remains an enduring expression of their interest and passion.
Buildings and Facilities

The outstanding people of UT Arlington succeed in part because of the environment in which they work, study, live and create:  cutting-edge laboratories, technology-enhanced classrooms and studios, state-of-the-art library and research facilities, and on-campus residences that become a home away from home.  The demands of society and our own drive for exploration compel on-going facilities modernization and expansion of facilities.   Endowment gifts may be used to help finance the construction of new facilities as well as the renovation and expansion of existing buildings and landscapes.   More information…Learn about Current Initiatives

Departments, Centers and Programs
The outstanding curriculum of our schools and colleges make The University of Texas at Arlington a dynamic institution for students, researchers and instructors.  Because of that dynamism, UT Arlington can seize opportunities to create new initiatives and enhancements for existing programs.  Donor support for such initiatives and programs will reach the undergraduate and graduate levels through community outreach activities, seminars, public lectures, student life programming, inter-disciplinary courses, and much more.
